Simon, Mana and Eloka are sitting at the table in the studio and quietly drinking a scotch. When one of them mentions his experience of that smoky taste in a forest where there is a peat bog, Simon says that only moss will survive the end of the world. He finds this sad but beautiful. — Isaac Moiré (b. 1771, d. 1840) was a poet and knife grinder. After doing various jobs, he started composing his first poems at the age of 42. The plaque placed on the makeshift shelter where he lived in Le Mans features the line, “And the lyre forever illustrated the hovel”.
A few things happened during this film. A chair in the courtyard, an Alocasia plant whose new leaves tore the stems as they emerged, camera batteries transported from Tourcoing all the way to Marseille by Camila Rodríguez Triana.
Others left, and left again, the blue truck broken down somewhere in Burgundy, Antoine, the flat mate, moving to Brussels, then Simon too, and Isaac Moiré.
