Having fled Russia as soon as the invasion of Ukraine began, a lot of things have lost their meaning for me. The very concept of a relevant documentary seemed blurred in this new reality. When I went back after two years, I set about making my film, seeing it as part of a wider project: observing my country at a time of isolation, increasing dictatorship, repression and violence that had become part of everyday life. 

It was important for me to capture the state of immobility, the frozen queues at bus stops that reflect the state of society, which has finally lost its will, its capacity for action and its self-esteem. Having said that, I’m not judging or despising anyone, because I feel I am part of this society and I’m also frozen in total incomprehension as to whether my ‘bus will arrive or not’ and how this historic crisis will be resolved.
