Idea The film Falling land, topologie du visage minier is a journey between the real and the virtual made through cross sections of the earth, strata of coal, with a sound landscape evoking the world of mining. With digital technology, art once began becomes an ontological experiment, a way of exploring the earth. Here, the director rewrites and interprets the topographical landscape and scientific geology in the mining zone of Loos-en-Gohelle, France. The idea is to rebuild the old underground galleries and transcribe the relief of the slag heaps and the mine on a human scale. The project grasps the past and the present within a topographical dimension and a depth that is at once scientific and poetic. This virtual journey prompts mental attentiveness, the questioning of being, and an exploration of man and history through the digital experience.
